Welcome.

Thank you for your  interest in my poems and my poetic journey. This year, 2024, the publication of  What Hummingbirds Do, a semi-finalist in the New Women's Voices competition, in August, will mark only my second recognition with a print collection.  You can credit that to my slowness, or my reluctance to enter the competitive publishing fray, or my inability to keep up with the complex changing standards of the literary world (after all, it took me a while to stop trying to write like Tennyson and Frost).
But in recent years, I've found a variety of small journals who have liked and published my poems.  I've felt encouraged to risk my fragile eqo in compiling and trying to publish this new chapbook. The poems it contains combine the memories and meditations of my many years of believing in the importance of the natural world for all of us -- in our survival and our emotional and mental strength.
I love knowing that there are wild places and native species that will survive long after we as individuals are gone. They will still be here for future generations. I hope my poems help you join me in taking joy in those places. And I hope the few pages of this website will help you feel you know me better.
